You will get to see a great deal of this vast and amazing country and experience places most people wouldn’t get to see on the usual tourist routes. Incorporating sight seeing, fun activities tours and bus passes you will travel from Darwin to Adelaide, then on to Sydney and after this up the East Coast to Cairns.

The Programme

This great package begins in Darwin in the far north of Australia and ends in tropical Cairns in Northern Queensland.

After the tour you spend two weeks at our Wildlife Sanctuary in Adelaide getting involved with some native Australia wildlife. Then you join the Oz Experience Bus, which takes you through Victoria, South Australia, and New South Wales, finishing in Sydney. Here you will have seven days of organised activities with a set of like-minded people, enjoying the best sights in the City and making some great new friends!

After your first week in Sydney you are able to choose whether to stay on for a while, get back on the Oz Experience Bus heading up the East Coast of the country. The bus pass takes you the whole way up to tropical Cairns in Northern Queensland.

Once you’ve finished the bus pass, you will spend two weeks on a conservation project in Cairns – the work is quite varied but you’ll get to see a side of Australia most people don’t often see and have a wonderful time doing it!

Location

Travel from Darwin to Adelaide then through all of South Australia, Victoria and New South Wales and stopping off in Sydney. From Sydney you can travel up the East Coast to Cairns.

Accommodation and meals

Whilst you volunteer, accommodation will be in the grounds of the sanctuary in basic canvas cabins.  These cabins have their own toilet and shower, with other additional facilities (laundry, showers, toilets,) available.  There are at least six beds per cabin with separate cabins available for females and males.  You may have to share a cabin with other volunteers though it is likely to be only two-three other people at the one time.

During your time volunteering, sanctuary staff will supply the majority of food,  (however you will be doing the cooking), which includes meat, vegetables, bread, milk, pasta, tea, coffee, breakfast cereal and fruit.  All cooking facilities are provided with a central eating area and kitchen.
