Tanzania Community Volunteers
On this program, there is the choice of either development programs or outreach projects to local community at Bahari Beach, near Dar es Salaam. You may have specific experience and skills you can offer on this voluntary program, or you may just want to give your enthusiasm and time to help the impoverished communities as they attempt to improve their lives.
You may be able to combine a couple of projects a day, as hours vary with each project. You could work at a nursery class in the morning, and when it shuts at midday, go on to teach sports in the afternoon. If teaching is something that interest you, then there’s the possibility of secondary, primary or nursery class level, or a combination all any if you prefer.
Whatever you choose to do, you will be helping to enrich their lives by giving them care and education that they often have to go with out, and also keeping them away from a dangerous life on the streets.
Though we can’t guarantee that you’ll be placed in the orphanage or school you apply for, we will endeavor to make sure you are matched as closely as possible to your request.
Project Location
You’ll find that Tanzania is steeped in traditions and culture, and is visited by thousands of travelers a year. This volunteer community program is located at Dar es Salaam, based on the east coastal region of Tanzania.
Accommodation & Meals
You’ll be living in a very large house that you’ll be sharing with other volunteers It is located four hundred meters from the sea. You’ll have your own housekeeper, cook and evening watchman. It is a clean, comfortable and safe environment.
You’ll receive two meals daily, made by the resident cook. A light lunch is available for those volunteers whose projects are located at the house.
