The majority of the English teaching projects in Sri Lanka are located near to the historic city of Polonnaruwa. Volunteers frequently visit the local archaeological ruins or go biking, fishing or jungle trekking in their free time. The four weeks will fly by, thanks to the enthusiasm of the children who will be keen to involve you in their daily lives. However, it is possible to lengthen your stay if you would like to. Typical Volunteer Day 0700 breakfast 0800 school starts 10.30 break for cookies and tea 14.00 school finishes…lunch 15.00 you can provide extra curricular activities or relax 17.00 return to your homestay for dinner Evening - free time to mix with the locals or fellow volunteers  Project Location Volunteers have a private room in a home stay with a local Sri Lankan family.
