Portuguese Language Classes

Classes run for 4 hours a day, in small, intimate groups for optimum learning effect. Conversational methods of language training mean you will be surprised how quickly you learn to speak Portuguese!

Project Location

The school is sited in the business centre of Rio, which is only a short bus ride away from the infamous beaches of Panama and Copacabana.

Accommodation & Meals

Brazil volunteer accommodation is with a host family who are usually from a local, middle-class background, who live in attractive and safe areas. You will have your own private room, typically sharing a bathroom, however some families can offer a private bathroom or you can request a double room if you want. Meals are provided.

All the families have been carefully selected. The families are close friends of the school, and generally have participated in the project for years, with countless positive feedback from students!

Extra Activities
Organized activities or trips are offered & included in cost two-three times each week. Such as: city tour, cooking class, videos, samba classes, lectures, parties, trips to museums. Students only pay for their own transport and entrance fee etc.

Programme Summary:
You will be amazed at how quickly you can learn Portuguese. Lessons are conversational and will focus on the topics you really need to get by in Brazil. You will also have a great insight into Brazilian culture.

Arrival dates:
First Monday of every month
