Paid Teaching English Programme China
This is a wonderful opportunity to get paid work as an English teacher in China while you benefit from the opportunity to study Mandarin and gain first hand experience of the lifestyle and culture of the Chinese people. During the school vacations you have the opportunity to travel around this vast country.
Programme DetailsYou will be provided with TEFL (Teach English as a Foreign Language) training and certification to prepare you to teach English to Chinese students and help you to get the most out of your ‘vacation experience’.
In addition to TEFL training you will also learn to speak Mandarin and be given a full orientation course to include information on the culture and customs of the country and details on working, traveling and living in China.
After your orientation course and TEFL training you will begin your placement.
Based at a well equipped school of a high standard, your main role will be to teach your students about the British culture and the English language. You might also help out in geography, science, music, sport or history lessons. You will be expected to plan lessons, mark homework, take the attendance register and help with the general administrative running of the school.
Programme LocationWe work in partnership with schools all over China.
Accommodation & Meals
Rooms and accommodation will vary from school to school but by western standards may be considered basic. However, by Chinese standards, the rooms provided for the foreign teachers are generous and of a good standard. You will probably have to share communal facilities.
All meals will be served in the school dining hall which may include a separate staff dining area.
