Lion Breeding and Conservation Zimbabwe
If one of your personal ambitions is to get closer to a pride of lions, then on this program you’ll have the chance to go walking and working closely with them, at a private game park based in Zimbabwe. The project, as well as breeding lions, researches the behavior of lion groups, and aims at releasing them back into their natural habitats.
Volunteer RoleAs well as interacting with lions, you’ll have the chance of caring for orphaned and abandoned elephants. You will join patrols checking the reserve’s boundaries, alongside helping manage other wildlife projects on the park. You will have the opportunity to visit Victoria Falls and take part if you want to in a nearby community program that assists young orphaned children.
Project LocationThe Lion Breeding Center is based ten kilometers from the local town Gweru, in the beautiful heartlands of Zimbabwe.
AccommodationDuring the program, you’ll be accommodated in extremely comfortable rooms catering for two or three people (same sex) in thatched lodges located at the reserve’s main camp. The lodge will be very near to a stunning dam, and you’ll have access to excellent modern facilities such as Satellite television, swimming pool and the Internet. You’ll have you own toilet and showering facilities situated near to your sleeping area.
