Japan Ski and Snowboard Instructor Course
This program is ideally suited to individuals looking to work and train in the winter sports industry, whether you are an school/university leaver or someone looking to escape the rat race and the pressures of regular work. It equips you with the necessary qualifications and will also put you in touch with many of the major winter sport employers, so you will have work options as soon as you are qualified.
The Ski and Snowboard Course
This program is one of the best chances to gain your NZSIA/SBINZ CSI and Stage 1 Qualifications, and once you attain it you can teach all of the way to high intermediate students.
The first four weeks of the program are devoted to working on your own technique, ironing out any flaws or bad habits. As well as this, during these sessions you can learn the correct teaching methods and terminology used to demonstrate the required skills, so every moment on the mountain will be a complete learning experience.
The Qualifications There are two main qualifications you should look to complete during this ski or snowboarding instructor program – the NZSIA/SBINZ CSI and Stage 1.
NZSIA/SBINZ CSI: The Certificate in Ski Instruction (CSI) is an entry-level qualification that allows you to teach novices through to advanced beginners. The course takes four days to complete and requires you to show the ability to teach basic principles, analyze individual ability of each student i.e. weaknesses and strengths, safety, class handling and to deal with both children and adult beginners.
NZSIA/SBINZ Stage 1: The New Zealand Snow-sports Instructor Alliance and Snow Boarding Instruction New Zealand Stage 1 course is a prerequisite for anyone wanting to instruct skiing/snowboarding beyond the beginner level. It allows you to teach up to Advanced Intermediate level and is in general a minimum level qualification for anyone wishing to work in a ski school. The NZSIA Stage 1 is an eight-Day course/exam.
