Ghana Community Development Project

This volunteer community development project is situated in the bustling and vibrant urbanized locations of Ghana. Its goal is to help local communities, particularly young children to face the problems of living within a developing African city suburb.

The scope for helping large organizations who really need extra assistance caring for people and children within local communities is huge. But so is the personal reward and satisfaction you’ll receive by becoming involved in this project.

During your Ghana volunteer placement, you will gain an invaluable insight by working and living amongst the people of Ghana, thus obtaining a true cultural insight into this wonderful country and its communities. You will have the opportunity to work in urban cities and rural suburbs at the core of this country.

There are numerous possibilities to work in either urban or rural suburb environments at the heart of this land. A variety of program options are available including HIV/AIDS awareness and education, medical and health care, teaching projects, women’s programs, non-governmental or orphanage organisations in Ghana.

Project Location

Developing town and city areas of Ghana, such as Accra and Kumasi.

Accommodation & Meals

You’ll have the chance to integrate fully and immerse yourself in local culture by living with a Ghanaian family who speak English. Usually this includes the children of the family and extended family. They will help to make you feel at home and get to know the local area. They will provide all daily meals, though you may have to purchase lunch during volunteering days.
