Gap Year Expedition - Venezuela
The Venezuela Expedition is a great programme if you want an adventure expedition in South America. Like Real Gap's other volunteer expeditions programmes abroad, it combines adventure, travel and volunteer work, so the program has many rewarding experiences for your career break or gap year.
Situated in the town of Chichiriviche, which is based in Morrocoy National Park on the north-west coast of Venezuela, you are away for weeks at a time and have the chance to become familiar with South America's most beautiful countries. Why not visit the Orinoco Delta or trek to the summit of Roraima mountain. You could even Kayak to Angel Falls, the world's highest waterfall.
The expedition program gives you the chance to explore Venezuela, experiencing its beautiful beaches, waterfalls, rivers, mountains and jungles. In the middle of all this you can take part in Spanish tuition, courses in navigation and survival skills and you will have lots of possibilities to sample the many adventure sports activities that the country has to offer.
This gap year expedition program is jammed full of mental and physical challenges, with the added challenge of learning Spanish too! The itinerary, though dependent on the weather, involves discovering the rich wildlife areas of Venezuela and even Anaconda hunting. By the end of your trip, you will have experienced on a very deep level the Real Venezuela.
