Gap Year Expedition - Ecuador
The Ecuador Expedition is a great project if you are looking for an adventure expedition in South America. As with Real Gap's other volunteer expeditions abroad, it combines adventure, travel and volunteer work, so the program is full of fulfilling experiences for your gap year or career break.
The Ecuador Adventure program is mostly a jungle gap year expedition, however, there are a number of possibilities to venture into the Andes Mountains, onto its lovely beaches and the renowned Galapagos Islands.
The program takes you to all of Ecuador’s places of interest, from the Andes to Quito, the jungle, coast and much more. You even have the option to do voluntary work on the islands of Galapagos or end your trip with a cruise.
The variations in geography and bio-diversity make it a great place for out-doors activities, for example river rafting, trekking mountain biking, paragliding and climbing. You can go horseback riding through this stunning landscape.
Getting around Ecuador is easiest by bus, and most areas can be reached within 24 hours from Quito.
