Galapagos Island Teaching Project Volunteer
Our volunteer project provides you with an excellent opportunity to teach in South America in one of the best-protected and most unique environments in the world. Situated on the islands of Santa Cruz and Isabela, the most popular and largest of the Galapagos Islands. Volunteers assist teaching disadvantaged children at the local schools.
Think about doing this Galapagos volunteer program if you want to teach English in Latin America during your career break or gap year or if you just want to help children and see a new culture. This is not only a meaningful project, but also an unusual opportunity to travel and teach in one of the most out-of-the-way destinations on the planet - the Galapagos Islands.
Project LocationThe program has two principal locations in the main towns on the Galapagos Islands of Isabela and Santa Cruz. These Islands are effortlessly reached from the main land by both sea and air. Santa Cruz is the second biggest Island of the Galapagos, behind Isabela, which is four times bigger!
Accommodation and Meals
Most volunteers, interns and Spanish-language students live with host families. Our onsite staff knows all these families personally. All of their homes have to meet a standard rigorously set by our onsite staff.
The families give the volunteers three meals daily, seven days a week.
Learn Spanish
If you would like to volunteer on this program but you aren’t able to speak any Spanish or your Spanish language skills are very basic, we recommend that you take Spanish lessons at our Spanish Language School in Ecuador.
This program can be simply joined with the Spanish language course.

Programme Summary:
Teach deprived children, possibility of having your own classes teaching: sports, arts & crafts, music, etc. Lots to do in your free time: snorkeling, trekking, surfing, scuba, boat trips.
