Cultural and Language Experience Costa Rica
Costa Rica is a wonderful place to learn Spanish, travel and volunteer. With so much history, natural beauty and culture, it is an authentic and unique place to spend your time out or gap year. A basic familiarity with the language would be necessary if you want to volunteer on a social placement.
The Language School in Costa RicaThe language school is located in the popular backpackers town of Santa Barbera de Heredia. This large student-orientated town has many clubs, bars and good access for travel around Costa Rica. International volunteers and gap year students have used the language school for numerous years, giving them a sound knowledge of Spanish before they volunteer in Costa Rica.
At the school, you can also take part in a number of cultural activities, giving you a richer Costa Rica volunteer experience.
LocationWe offer the exceptional possibility to combine classes in the country’s capital, San José, with lessons at Manuel Antonio National Park, based on the pacific coast. The school in San José is situated in a safe suburb between Zapote and San Pedro. Manuel Antonio National Park boasts some of Costa Rica’s most excellent snorkeling beaches, and a rainforest that is rich in flora and fauna.
Accommodation and MealsYou will live with a typical Costa Rican family who are known to the project. You will be given your own room and keys to come and go as you please, with two meals provided daily.
Volunteering Once you have mastered the language why not put your newly acquired skills to good use by doing a volunteer placement?
